Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle returns to Universal Studios Hollywood

After a seasonal hiatus, The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will resume at Universal Studios Hollywood beginning tonight.

The large-scale light and special effects display projected upon the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry celebrates the four Hogwarts houses and is accompanied by a special musical arrangement based on the original scores from the popular franchise. The show will take place multiple times per evening, starting at sunset.

The theme park also announced the return of its Special Effects Show, which gives guests a behind-the-scenes look at movie-making. The show will run multiple times daily starting July 1-Aug. 14 and on weekends only beginning Aug. 20.

In honor of the new “Minions: The Rise of Gru,” animated feature hitting theaters July 1, the Minions will cut loose inside the park and take the spotlight inside the Universal Plaza daily from June 27-July 17 where guests can meet the newest Minion, Otto, as well as fan-favorites Jerry and Dave. The Minion activation will feature guest experiences including a 16-foot Minion squishy and a specially-created Minion-themed game which will run through Aug. 14.
